4 Ways to Beat the Summer Heat
Summer has to be one of the most gruelling times of the year for Floridians. We basically only get two seasons; summer, which lasts about 9 months and not summer, those other months of the year where we actually wear shoes that aren’t flip-flops. I know you’ve seen those pictures of baking cookies on the dashboard of your car, right?
Summer here really can be quite hot, especially for those of us that have uniform requirements in our jobs, vehicles with no AC, or are just not used to the high temperatures we face.
Check out these 4 items that will help you stay cool during summer
Bon Venu Micro USB Mini Fan
The Bon Venu Micro USB mini fan is so handy and works with both iPhone and Android products. All you do is plug it in and the phone’s battery power operates the fan. You’d be surprised at just how much wind actually comes off of this little thing. It works great in a pinch of unexpected heat and can fit into your purse or pocket with ease. I’d recommend this product for use when standing in line at a theme park, while at the beach, or during camping trips.
Cooling bandanas are not a new product, they’ve been out for a long time, but still a tried and true method of keeping cool while outdoors. They have a basic concept and could easily be made at home if you wanted to try and DIY it. I prefer to let someone else do all the hard work and purchased these cooling bandana neck wraps by Bellady. They are affordable and easy to use and currently have a discount running! They have these really neat little gel beads in them, when you soak them in water they absorb the fluid and get larger in size. You can use them over and over again making them an ideal cooling option for summer. I’d suggest using these while performing any type of yard work, exercising, or just hanging out in the shade.
The Chill Pal Cooling Towel works on the same principle as the cooling bandanas but is delivered in a slightly different way. This towel is like a chamois cloth for humans. It’s hard when you first receive it, don’t let that be off-putting though. All you need to do is soak this towel in cool water, wring it out, and place it around your neck. Additionally, you can also use this product to soak up any sweat you may have from all that hard work you’re doing. These towels are perfect for keeping cool during outdoor sporting events, while fishing on the boat, or even during a gym workout.
I know what you’re thinking, mini AC, yeah right?! I was just as skeptical but for the price point of this product, at just under $15 you can get some cooler air blowing your way. The WoneNice Portable Fan is battery operated (4 AAA’s not included) and comes with something other portable fans don’t have, which is this cool little sponge that fits inside of it. All you need to do is run the sponge under cold water, wring it out, place it inside the device, and power it on. It doesn’t deliver icy cold air, but it does work well for cooling down an overheated body. I’d recommend these for use at amusement parks, in a baby stroller for a little one, or strapped to your person during a long walk.
